REHOBOT Hydraulics expands and rejuvenates its machine fleet
A key factor in maintaining competitiveness in the industrial sector is to ensure continuous access to the right technological equipment. The pace of development is rapid and machines that have served their useful life need to be replaced with new machines, resulting in major performance improvements.
The company's CEO Kjell-Roger Holmström says: "In any type of production, it is also important to remove bottlenecks. A chain is never stronger than its weakest link, and in the same way, bottlenecks hamper not only the part in question but the overall production flow - especially if it is an important part of the flow. With this investment, we are expanding the production capacity of small turned parts, which today is mostly done from two bar-fed lathes and two robot-fed lathes with an additional bar-fed lathe."
Okuma is a Japanese machine manufacturer with a rich history dating back to 1898. The current model is an Okuma 2000EX, a new bar-fed machine with three axes and two turrets, each with 16 driven tools and a sub-spindle.
Kjell-Roger Holmström continues: "For our production, we find it hard to imagine a faster, more optimal and better adapted machine. We have calculated that the pay-off time for this machine will be around 2.5 years and its service life between 15-20 years. The machine will immediately start running in two shifts."
Machines from Okuma, which today is one of the world's leading machine manufacturers, are nothing new for the expanding Eskilstuna company that manufactures high-pressure hydraulics. Kjell-Roger Holmström concludes: "This is our twelfth Okuma in our fleet so we are very familiar with their operating system and the machine itself, although each new machine needs some familiarisation."
